Silks from abroad | India silks |
Manually spun silk. Hanks are sold in 150 meters bobbin..
This silk is manually produced, spun and eco dyed in India.
Thiner than Madagascar's silk, it is used twinned for needlework or crocheted work. Can also be weaved in single thread. Hanks are a little bit hard to wind up because this silk catches. Put it in a softening bath to avoid this.
Muga silk
Used for knitting or weaving. You shouldn't be surprised by its coarse aspect. As a matter of fact, it's a very smooth silk but must be used raw. Once the work is over, put it in warm soapy water, rinse it well and it'll become quite fluffy.
